mmm, butterfinger

So I was looking through magazines and found this recipe that I absolutely HAD to try!! It turned out so delicious I had to share it with y'all! I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I did!

For the bars:
Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp coarse sea salt
  • 2 cups coarsely chopped butterfinger bars (about 12 fun sized bars) (I cut them about 5 times width ways and once down the middle long ways)



Instructions
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Cream butter and sugars in mixing bowl
  • Add the vanilla and eggs and mix until incorporated
  • With mixer on low, add your dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, sea salt) until just combined.
  • Stir in your chopped butterfingers
  • Spread in a 9x13 baking dish and bake for 25 minutes (I used a glass pan and had to bake it for about 30-35 minutes) 
  • Remove from oven and let cool completely. 

Butterfinger Buttercream Frosting
Ingredients: 
  • 1/2 cup room temperature butter (1 stick)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 2 1/2 - 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped butterfingers (about 4 fun sized bars)
Instructions:
  • Cream butter and shortening until smooth
  • With your mixer on low speed, add powdered sugar
  • Turn up speed to medium and mix until smooth
  • Spread the mixture on the blondies
  • Sprinkle the chopped butterfingers on top
