My Favorite Chicken Dish

This post should probably be titled 'One of my Favorite Chicken Dishes' because I am basically obsessed with chicken. But this is one of the top ones, and boyfriend and I have been eating it a lot lately, so I decided to share!

Ingredients:

  • sweet peppers (red, orange, yellow)
  • 2 chicken breasts (or 4 chicken tenders)
  • taco seasoning
  • brown rice
  • queso
Obviously from the ingredients you can tell that this recipe has a LOT of room to make it your own, and that's one of the reasons I love it so much. I tweek it a little each time and it always comes out different. By the way I got this idea from the dish that my boyfriend always gets at our favorite local Mexican restaurant. (a true hidden Memphis gem...seriously, someone's even been shot there!) But anyway, I highly encourage you to make it your own and add new stuff each time! Let me know if you try it and hash tag your pics with #perfectbelleblog. I'd love to try new ideas!

How To Make!
  • First you want to start your rice, because cooking rice literally takes FOREVER. Brown rice is my all time favorite, but we have had it with Spanish rice as well, and it's just as good.
  • Next, cut up your peppers. I use the sweet mini peppers you can buy at the store in a big bag.  I'm obsessed with these because they cut into the perfect little pepper rings, and I love to snack on them. I find that the perfect balance is about 4 red ones, 3 orange, and 2 yellow.
  • Add the peppers to a preheated pan (medium heat) with a little water and put the lid on.  Only let it sit like this for about 2 minutes before adding the chicken because it WILL BURN.
  • Add the chicken.  You can cut it up or leave it whole.  I like to cut it up while it's cooking, cause that's the easiest way for me to tell if the chicken is done or not. (I have a horrible fear of eating raw or under-cooked anything).
  • Once the chicken has browned up a little sprinkle in your taco seasoning.  I use probably less than a table spoon, but really I just eyeball it until it looks like enough.
  • Let your chicken finish cooking and sample the peppers to make sure they're not crunchy anymore.  Turn the heat off and add in your queso.  You can honestly pour as much as your little heart desires.  I mean...it's queso, so go all out.  Let the cheese warm up a little bit and then serve the mixture over rice!

I hope y'all get a chance to try this out, because it seriously is so yummy!!

In other totally unrelated news, IT'S CHRISTMAS BREAK! Although I still have to work, I have a TON more free time, so expect more blog posts! yay! I'm so excited, and I have some good idea!!

Stay Sweet!

Words of Encouragement

Hey y'all!!
I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families, and stuffed yourselves until you passed out!! I totally wish I could have, but unfortunately I'm a retail slave and had to be at work at 7 on Thanksgiving night!!! It sucked, but making time and a half is totally worth it. Who doesn't love a little extra cash around the holidays, am I right or am I right?!
Anyway, I am like WIPED OUT. I am thinking it must be still from the Black Friday madness, but I literally have not been able to pull myself out of bed in the morning or ANYTHING.  I am thanking God that I have not gotten sick yet! (crossing my fingers) Because that would be the WORST!
I wanted to take some time and give y'all some words of encouragement.  I know finals are coming up and just want you to remember that means you are another semester down and another step closer to your goal! Study hard these next 2 weeks and it will all pay off in the end!
Make sure you TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST! You could pull about a dozen all nighters, but the only thing that will leave you with is a groggy mind, and you'll feel awful during finals. Make sure you get plenty of sleep, and keep eating healthy! No late night trips to Sonic when you have the study munchies!!
Some of my favorite study snacks are carrots and wheat thins! I swear I live off of them when it gets to be this time of year.
And yeah, that's pretty much all I have. haha I have no idea where I was going with this post, but surprise, surprise, I'm procrastinating.

OOOH and I'm convinced my boyfriend have a little elf in our house that steals our things. My iPod is missing and we've lost 2 forks!! How do you lose a FORK? Whatever it's beyond me.  I'm sure we will find them soon.

Oh and one other thing, I have some really good news, so stay tuned if you want to hear it.  It's life changing for me, and NO. I'm not pregnant.

Stay Sweet!

New Business Idea?!

So as most of you probably don't know I have the weirdest obsession with needlepoint. It's by far my favorite past time, and I'm actually really good at it! So I was thinking, why not do what I love to make some extra cash! I wanted to get other opinions first before I dived right in, but do y'all think it would be a good idea to sell my needlepoints online? I could do special orders for basically anything you could think of or that I could design, as well as monograms, or letters for all of you sorority girls! I'm honestly thinking about doing this. What do y'all think?

Get To Know My Beauty Habits!

Hey guys! I’m sorry I have been nowhere near close to being good at this blogging regularly thing.  Time just gets away from me.  I seriously can’t believe that it’s already the middle of November. Where in the world did the time go?! I don’t know, but I didn't want to go too long without blogging anything, and I came across these questions, and since my blog is centered mostly around beauty lately I figured I’d answer these for y'all so you could get a better look into my beauty habits and routine! I’d love for you to answer them yourselves on your blogs and let me know when you do! I love reading these kinds of things!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
-It’s this weird mix of in-between, and I hate it.  If I want it to look any kinds of good without using some sort of heat on it I have to just put it up in a messy bun when wet and hope for the best.  Most of the time it just looks like poo natural. (so jealous of all of you who can just take a shower and leave the house)

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
-None of you probably know this, but I have a big problem with gray hair!!! Yes, I know.  I’m 21 years old and my hair is gray…like there are a ton in there, and they grow FAST!! Most of the time I will just use the nice and easy root touch-up to cover them up.  I know dying your hair from a box is bad, but honestly, since I've moved down south I have not for the life of me found a hairdresser that I would let touch my hair. If you know of any good ones, please, send them my way!

3. Do you wear the same style every day or do you change it?
-Most of the time I will just straighten it, because it takes the shortest amount of time, and I don’t have to worry about it.  Honestly, on days that I work, I end up just putting it in a pony within an hour into my shift, because my measuring tape gets tangled in it…..and my ear piece…and my pen..y'all, one day I was literally walking around work for like an hour with a pen stuck in the back of my hair…I am a mess.. Haha, but on days that I don’t have to work, and I go out and run errands or go shopping, or go out with the boy I will try to curl it.

4. do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
-I am a broke college student.  I did the whole gel nails thing for like 2 months before I realized how much money I was wasting, and I have SO MUCH nail polish it would be stupid for me not to do my own nails.  Besides, it’s such an easy way to relax.

5. How often do you change your nail polish?
-The minute it chips I have to take it off, because I can’t stand having chipped nails.  I try to do them every other week, but it really depends on my work schedule.

6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
-my piggies always have polish on them.  Is it just me, or do you guys think bare toes look so weird?!

7. How long does it take for you to put on your makeup?
-20 minutes to an hour. Just depends on how my morning is going, and how many breaks I take.

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
-I do my concealer first, and then my eyes, and then my foundation routine.  I’m pretty messy when it comes to doing my makeup, and doing my foundation after my eyes helps to cover up the mistakes I make, haha.

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
-Is this a serious question? I am a makeup junkie.  I’ll buy anything and everything no matter what.  I have so many unopened products it’s not even funny.  Oh lord, I have a problem.

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
-never. I already have SUPER long and thick eyelashes, anything else would probably be over-kill.

11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?
-when I’m at work I do, because I need to look professional, and I’m always up close and personal with my clients, and I want to look good.  But if I’m just going to class I don’t wear any makeup.

12. Do you wear makeup when you’re home alone or with family?
-It depends on what I did that day.  Right now I’m at home alone and have a full face, lip gloss and all, heyyyyyy.

13. will you leave the house without makeup?
-yes!

14. How many high-end products do you have?
-I prefer the high-end stuff over the drugstore brands.  I believe you get what you pay for, and the high-end stuff just works better with my face.  Now I do love the Revlon lip butters.  They’re my holy grail, but that’s basically the only drug-store makeup I use regularly.

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you’re getting dressed?
-I am the most indecisive person ever.  My outfit changes at least 17 times before I leave the house every time I get dressed.

16. How often do you change your handbag?
-I change it with the seasons mostly.  I carry around a big brown bag on a daily basis, but when the boy and I go out I’ll switch to something smaller, only because big bags in a bar are like the most annoying things ever.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
-I’ll go to bed anywhere between 9pm-2am, it just really depends on what I did that day, but I’m awake almost every day by 6:30-7, thanks to my wonderful internal clock. Thank the lord for coffee.

18. How often or when do you workout?
-Definitely not as often as I should, but I’m pretty active.  Work normally wears me out, I’m constantly walking back and forth between bra rooms and the fitting rooms.  I do love a good workout dvd when I’m feeling unmotivated, or when I have a full day off though!

19. Left handed or right handed?
-right

20. how tall are you?
-5’4”

21. do you speak any foreign languages?
-No. I speak English, because this is America.

22. How many pets do you have?
-Boyfriend and I have a wonderful, sweet, (and by that I mean devil, really, I just had to put him in his cage because he was attacking me) kitty-cat.

23. How often are you on blogger?
-NOT AS OFTEN AS I SHOULD.

24. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
-Yes! I have a huge running list in my phone. Whenever I see something or hear about something I want to try I’ll write it down.

25. How did you come up with your blog name?
-It was my old anonymous twitter name, and it just made sense to have a blog to go with my twitter. RIP @perfect_belle

26. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
-My phone, which is an HTC One V

27. How often do you clean your house?
-I pick up/ do dishes every day, but once a week I will vacuum, mop, sweep, clean the toilets, do laundry, and all of that fun stuff.  I live to have a clean house, and I can not stand messes. (my car, however, is another story)

28. What is your favorite color?
-Purple!

29. do you swear?
-I try to be a good representation of myself, but some things just need a good swearin’ to.

30. What are you doing with the rest of your day?

-After this I am going to work on a pile of homework ( I may or may not be procrastinating right now, oops)

I pinky promise I will try to update more soon, I'm working on a 'Products I've Used Up' post, but I'm working on trying to use up more products so I will actually have something to talk about!

Stay Sweet!

Letting It All Out.

Anyone can make themselves seem glamorous through pictures on their instagram, or tweets on their twitter, but there is so much more to all of us than that, and that's what the point of this blog post is tonight.

As some of you may have noticed, I have once again deleted my anonymous twitter account.  I honestly was just getting too caught up in the 'internet' world, and was starting to hate myself for it.  The twitter world especially...everyone is SO materialistic and so full of themselves.  Like I know, a username like ''perfect_belle'' you're probably thinking, Summer...that was you, and to be completely honest, when I first started twitter like over a year ago, it was!  I was constantly talking about how good I thought I looked, or the stuff that I was buying, but when I sat back and looked at it I realized, that's not who I am.  I am not the things I buy, I'm not the outfits I wear, or the makeup or hairstyle I choose.  While yes, those things make up who I am, I am not them.  They're such a small part of me, but unfortunately that's the only thing you guys ever get the chance to see.

So anyway, getting back on topic, again...on twitter...all I had been seeing before I decided to delete were girls just ripping each other apart.  Calling girls ugly for their pic-slips (I know, I've done it generally, and now I kind of feel like I'm contradicting myself, but I've realized my mistakes and have asked for forgiveness, and I hope some of you choose to do the same.), girls posting other girls' nude pictures, girls just generally being mean to each other, and it made me really stop and think about things.  As girls, I'm sure most of you know how hard it can be..I'm sure all of us has had the infamous encounter with that one other girl who was just so rude, and manipulative, and just plain old horrible to you for no good apparent reason....like we know how much it sucks when constantly you feel like you're being judged for how you look, what you eat, what designers are in your closet, or in your makeup bag. It literally has happened to ALL of us (and some of us are probably even guilty of doing it to others).  And that's where my question lies.  Why, do we as girls...who know what it's like, feel the need to put that hurt on someone else....and I probably shouldn't even say 'girls'...most of my followers I know are out of high school, and probably are in their 20's, so why do we as WOMEN think that it's okay to break each other down still?  We should be building each other up, and supporting each other when we are down.  It's just so surprising to me how quick all of us are to judge.  I literally spend a good 5 minutes (way longer than it should take) analyzing whether or not I should put a picture up on instagram, just because I'm worried about what other people will think; asking myself questions like 'does my makeup look too dark' 'do my fingers look ugly' 'does this salad actually look good, or am I just super hungry', just because I'm worried what people will think when they look at my pictures.

And this has lead me to the main reason why I had to say good-bye to the twitter world once and for all, and this is me explaining my instagram handle as well, a slight disclaimer, if you will.  I AM BY NO MEANS PERFECT. Nope, not one bit.  I skip workouts, I eat candy....(a LOT of candy....it's probably actually not okay, at all...I may or may not be eating a mini 3 muskateers right now, and I have probably had four or five already today..don't judge me, that's the whole point of me telling you this), I get breakouts, I get super moody and get mad at little things for no apparent reason, I curse, I don't talk to my parents as much as I should, all of my friends stopped talking to me when I moved down here to Tennessee, I would much rather wear sweatpants and a t-shirt over a cute outfit any day, and I cry when I watch movies or TV shows....goodness some days I don't even brush my hair....and not one of you can say anything about anything that I just said, because I know for a fact that each and everyone of you do the exact. same. thing. My point is, I am not who I portrayed to be on the internet, I'm not all 'home cooked meals, cute outfits, starbucks every day' all the time.  That's just the portion of my life that I was choosing to share with you.  I don't go shopping all the time....I'm actually really broke, and should not be allowed inside a Target ever again, because I'll end up in the street if I spend another dime there..(that's an exaggeration, but you get my point.)

This has been a totally jumbled post, and I'm not even sure if it makes any sense, but it was just a bunch of stuff that I felt NEEDED to be put out there.  Us as WOMEN need to be building each other up..not tearing each other apart, and I STRONGLY urge you all to step away from your social media sites and ask yourselves if you're sharing who YOU really are.  ESPECIALLY those of you with anonymous accounts...you're the ones who truly can be yourselves, with out the judgement of others who may know you in real life.  If you can't just be yourself and let who you really are shine, you're going to have a really sad life.  I've been away from it for about 3 days now, and I already feel so SO much better about myself.  Even my boyfriend has said he's seen a change in me.

Now I'll leave you with this lovely un-edited picture of myself.  No makeup, no fancy hair, just me.

Stay Sweet,
xoxo

Had to say it.

-if you create a twitter, especially an anonymous one, you need to understand that you're opening yourself up to the world. You have to be able to handle people saying negative things to you, and you have to be able to deal with people who have other views and opinions than you do. That's life, and if you can't handle someone disagreeing with you over a social media site, then I don't think you're really ready to handle the real world. You aren't always right, and you have to learn how to deal with people who have different opinions.

My Summer Must-Haves!!

Ahhh, summertime! My favorite time of the year!! There's nothing better than warm weather, and days spent laying by the pool soaking up that sweet, sweet sunshine!  I thought I'd take the time today to show y'all some of my favorite summer must-haves.  Basically, what I take to the pool! So, let's get started!

Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Lotion
This stuff is a God-send.  Not even joking, it is officially my go-to lotion.  Not only does it smell AMAZING (like lime and coconut), but it also leaves me SO soft!  My skin gets super dry when I lay out or am in the pool a ton, so this stuff helps tremendously.  It's not greasy at all, and it's thick, so it really sinks into your skin! Needless to say, I'm going to get like 4 bottles before the summer ends so I can use it all year round!

PINK Beach Weekend
Every girl loves to smell amazing, even if they're just laying by the pool! I know tanning oil smells like heaven, but I love having a little something extra.  Even when you're not at the pool, this spray is the perfect light, summer scent, and is an appropriate scent for a night out or for a day at work! I snagged this at the semi-annual sale at VS for $4.83! win!!

Hawaiian Tropic Dark Tanning Oil
After I have my base tan established, this is all I use when I lay out.  It smells amazing, and surprisingly, for being an oil, doesn't make me that greasy AT ALL.  I have been using this FOREVER. It's always a staple every summer at the pool.

Essie's Boom Boom Room
I had been looking for this color EVERYWHERE and could not find it.  One day I walked into Target, and it was my lucky day.  I got the very last one, AND I got it for 10% off because there was nail polish all over the cap! This is the PERFECT pink for summer, and it looks awesome with a tan! It takes a little more coats than most Essie polishes, but I don't mind.  I've already re-painted my nails 3 times with this color.

VS SPF 24 Body Lotion
This was my first year using this product, and I fell in love.  It has this great ingredient: Tahitian Monoi Oil, which makes it feel amazing on the skin. Not like a typical sunscreen at all!  It protects really well, the only downside of it, is that it is not waterproof, so you have to make sure you re-apply.  It smells a tad bit like self-tanner, but I don't mind that smell at all, so I love it.

 Olay Fresh Effects Wipes
I am in love with these makeup remover wipes.  They're very cooling, and do a great job at removing everything.  I use them when I'm at the pool quite often, just to wipe the hot away. If you're spending all day at the pool or beach I definitely recommend bringing a pack of these. Just don't forget to re-apply you're sunscreen afterwards!

So those are the basics of what I always have with me in my beach bag.  Of course I also always bring my iPod, so I can listen to music as I'm soaking up the sun, and a book too.  Let me know what y'all keep in your beach bags! I always love finding new products to try out!

I hope you all are taking advantage of the end of your summer! It is crazy that school will be starting in just a few short weeks! Get out and live it up while you still have the chance!

Stay Sweet!

Big News!!

First off, I would like to thank each and every one of you for praying and wishing me luck throughout this whole job process! After weeks of interviews and days of waiting I finally got the call! I am officially a bra specialist at Victoria's Secret! Basically I work with customers in the fitting rooms helping them find the perfect bra in the right size! I will also be teaching my team selling techniques that they can try with the customers to provide the best shopping experience, and turning every customer into a sale!

I am so excited. This is a huge step up from Justice.

I have been with the Justice company for the past 5 years! Honestly, they're a great company to work for. It's always been a fun environment, but I must admit, it was a lot more fun when I was 16.. Now that I'm 20-something I feel like I needed a change to something more grown up.

This post is going no where. Haha I am so happy and excited I can hardly think.

I just wanted to let all of you know that I got the job, and am very thankful for all I your support!

Oh - and if any of you have ever worked at Victorias Secret PLEASE give me ideas of outfits to put together. All black everything, but I want to be creative!

Holy Cow.

Holy cow is basically the only way I know how to describe this post. I absolutely can not believe that it has been a year already that I have moved in with my boyfriend. In a way it seems like I've been here forever, but it also feels like I just moved in a week ago!

I can honestly say that this has been the best year of my life. So much has happened, and I have grown so much as a person. I am more in love than I have ever been and I wouldn't change a single thing. Having my own little family has been a challenge and a blessing all in one. I have learned so much responsibility, and am so thankful for all of the things I have gotten to experience since being here.

Well it's time for me to head off to work, I just felt like giving y'all a little update. I hope y'all had a great 4th and continue to have an amazing summer!

Addressing Issues

I know I said on Instagram that my next blog was going to be the no makeup makeup look, but I just have to get this mess off my chest.

Okay, so since I've been back in the twitter world I have realized that people really are not that bright.  I actually fear for some of these people's futures, and actually pray that most of them aren't actually what they tweet.  I pray that they are just putting on an act, because they think it makes them look good (even though it really doesn't).  So here is a list of things that I absolutely HATE seeing on twitter.

1. The Needy Girlfriend.
-Please be advised that your relationship will not last very long, unless you have a pussy boyfriend.  No man is going to stick around some girl making him do everything for her, some girl who wont let him go see his friends, or some girl who wont stop texting him 24/7.  You need to cool it and give your man some space.

2. The Slut.
-Um, guess what.  If you go into twitter with the word 'slut' in your handle, you're going to attract people that want to use you.  I don't know what girl in their right mind would want that, but really? It's disgusting.  Like, what would your family think of you if you told them that your anon twitter name was something like @bedroomslut? How is that a good thing? Have you no respect for yourself?

3. The Corrector.
- I just encountered some of these today.  I called a girl out for being disgusting because she said when she drops food on the floor she just kicks it under the oven, but I spelled oven wrong, and everyone jumped on me for it.  Like really? I'm sorry that I don't have time to proofread everything, and that you couldn't find anything else to come at me with.  Please go find a life outside of twitter.

4. The Fakes.
-I just don't understand why anyone would ever pretend to be something they're not.  God made you how you are for a reason, you shouldn't feel the need to hide behind a computer screen and be someone who isn't you.  I have made many good friends, including a wonderful amazing boyfriend because of twitter, by being simply myself.  I'm not on there to impress anyone, the only person I need to worry about impressing is myself.

5. The Drunks.
-If it's 11 in the morning on a weekday and you're tweeting about how you're getting 'wasted' I can only ask one thing of you.  Please go out into the real world, and find a job, or something to do with your time.  If you always claim that you're at a bar, or out with your friends, please, go spend time with your friends.  No one likes the person at the bar that is glued to their phone.  Also, please be advised that alcohol is full of empty calories, and makes you fat.  I'm not saying don't ever go out and get drunk, but if you're tweeting about it every day, please reevaluate your life choices.

Okay, rant over.  I really just felt like these people needed to be addressed.  I'm sure I missed some, so if you have any to add, feel free to leave a comment, or tweet me the type of people that you simply just cannot stand on social media.

I hope you all had a safe and happy Memorial Day!

Good Luck!

It's finally that time again....finals!! I just wanted to tell everyone good luck!!! I hope you pass with flying colors! And remember, when it's over you'll have 3 months of freedom! Unless of course, you're like me and are taking summer classes in which case, just think about the fact that you'll be finished sooner and won't have to deal with another set of finals forever!!

We made it through the Winter!

Thank the lord this awful season we call winter is finally over! Of course, no offense if you actually enjoy the season, I personally can't stand it.  Perhaps it was all of those years I spent in northern Illinois; ya know, when we would get like 12 feet of snow, but still had to go to school....yeah, I hated that.  Anyway, it's over now and we can all go back to wearing bright cheery colors, and putting our workouts into full gear as we prepare to spend our summers on a beach somewhere far far away from our normal lives.  ( I wish )
Spring is one of my favorite times of the year!  It's not too hot, not too cold.  As Goldilocks once said, 'it's just right'.  hahhaha wow, I am killing myself tonight.  Seriously I have been in such a great mood, surprisingly, since I had a pretty shitty day.  But my boyfriend came home, and just seeing him and being near him puts me in an instantly good mood.  That's why I love him so much, he's such a sweetheart. I honestly have no idea where I'm going with this post.  I just haven't posted in a while and I didn't want to keep my thoughts away from you too long!

Hmm, lets talk about my plans for this weekend.  It's Easter weekend!  Unfortunately, I'm not doing anything, but I'm pretty much okay with that, considering the fact that I do stuff every other single day out of the whole year.  I get Sunday off work, so I'm planning on just relaxing with my boyfriend.  We don't get a lot of days where we are both off work and can just relax together, so whenever we get a chance to do that we take advantage of it.  I have to be at work at 9 am tomorrow, and it's already midnight.  I have a feeling tomorrow is going to DRAG on.  I'm not looking forward to it, but my goal this week was to not complain about work, so I'm not going to sit here and complain about it.

Let's take a second to address that issue.  Everyone has bad days at work.  You could be doing the one thing that you are absolutely in love with and still have a bad day.  A lot of people wake up everyday, wishing they could just stay in bed and not have to go out into the real world and deal with the idiots of the world, but we do anyway, because it's our job, our duty to the world.  I have realized lately that having a job is a gift, and I for one am very thankful that I have the opportunity to have a not so bad of a job, and that I actually do get to work with something I love (fashion).  But I do complain about it...A LOT.  I need to stop doing that.  There are so many people in the world who are struggling to get by everyday because they can't get a job for whatever reason,  people who would probably gladly do my job everyday, and deal with all of the bullshit without complaining, because they know that by working they are providing a better life for themselves, and perhaps even their families.  So for this reason, I have tried to set a goal for myself to not complain anymore about work.  I need to shut my mouth, put my happy face on, and deal with whatever gets thrown at me.  It's all part of being a grown up.

Well, I figure I should go now and start getting ready for bedy-bye time.  I hope all of you have an amazing Easter with your families, and if you are traveling, please stay safe!

Look out for my next blog post.  Maybe I can get it posted on Sunday, since we all know I'll just be lounging around all day.  I'm thinking either 'My favorite healthy snacks' or my 'wishlist for spring: fashion and beauty'.

Favorite Beauty Products!

Hello!  I hope you all had a fabulous Friday!!! I worked for 5 hours, got some Taco Bell, and have been watching American Idol on DVR ever since, haha I'm a winner, I know.  I have been wanting to do this post for a while, but, ya know, I'm somewhat of a procrastinator, so there's that.  I don't want to bore you with a long intro, so lets just get to it.

Favorite Hair Product.
It's A 10: Daily Conditioner.
This stuff is seriously AMAZING.  I use it every night when I shower.  It leaves my hair soft and silky, and I hardly have any tangles when I comb my hair after.  The smell is a little weird, but I think I've gotten used to it.  You can find it at Ulta, and it retails for $22.00.  A little pricey, but definitely worth it!

 Favorite Skin Care.
Benefit.
I have been using this for about a week now, and I seriously have never been as happy with any skin care line as I am with this one.  I used Proactiv all throughout high school, and it worked for me, but I wanted to try something different.  I have dry skin, and normally only get like one break out a month.  This stuff moisturizes like no other! The other great thing about it is that it is SO light, and a little goes a LONG way.  The eye cream is also to die for.  I don't get dark circles ever, because trust me, this girl makes sure she gets her sleep! but it has changed the look of my eyes a lot, just from using it for a week.  They look brighter, and more awake.  Another bonus is that it has a VERY pretty scent, my boyfriend even told me my face smelled good, haha thanks baby!  You can get this at Ulta in a set if you want to try it for yourself.  You get a facial cleanser, exfoliating cleanser, toner, moisturizer, deep moisturizer, and an eye cream all for $24!

 Favorite Bronzer.
Benefit Hoola Bronzer.
I love being bronze and having that sun-kissed look as much as the next girl, but I absolutely hate the bronzers that make you look orange, or the ones with all of that sparkly glitter.  This one is perfect.  It is the best matte bronzer, and it doesn't look orange on your skin at all!  I got this as a sample, and I'm ready to be done with it so I can buy the full sized one! This product retails for $28.

 My Signature Scent.
Michael Kors: Very Hollywood.
This is one of those scents that you just can't put your finger on.  I wish I could describe it to you, but all I can say is it's amazing, and y'all just need to trust me on that.  This is my second bottle.  I'm almost positive it has been discontinued, but I saw it at a Perfumania like a month ago for $50.  Good Luck!

 My Favorite Teeth Whitener.
Rembrandt Fluoride Mouthwash.
This stuff will make your teeth like three shades whiter just after using it for a week, and it is much cheaper than those crest white strips!  I love it because it's easy.  Rinse for a minute after brushing your teeth, don't eat or drink for 30 minutes, and show off your pearly whites!  Plus it tastes delicious, and the added fluoride is a total good thing!  You can find this at Target for about $9.

 Anti-Breakage Spray.
Garnier Fructis Fall Fight.
I have the longest, thickest hair on the planet, and I shed like a dog!  I picked this up a few weeks ago and have been using it every night and every morning.  I have been seeing some results..not as much hair falls out anymore, I'm just hoping the more I use it the better it will be!! I don't shed as often during the day anymore.  It seems that my hair only falls out now when I brush it!  It smells delicious, and doesn't make my hair greasy or flatten it at all, it's super light weight, and I recommend it to anyone who has a nice glob of hair in the drain at the end of their shower! It retails at Target for about $6.

 Favorite Foundation.
Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Brightening Makeup.
Hello Flawless is right!  I just discovered this little gem from Benefit, and it is AMAZING! It has excellent coverage, and it is a super light formula.  I can hardly even feel it on my skin.  I wear the color Champagne.  It retails for $36.  This is my sample size, and you can get this for $10 if you want to try it out, but don't want to spend the money.

 Best Mascara Ever.
Urban Decay's Super-curl Curling Mascara.
I was blessed with tons of long eyelashes, so whenever I use anything that lengthens or volumizes my eyelashes end up looking like..bad.  Which is exactly why I LOVE this stuff.  All it does is curl!  I don't even use my eyelash curler anymore, because this does the job for me.  It doesn't clump and it doesn't leave my eyelashes feeling heavy.  The only downside is that it isn't waterproof, but I can live with that.  It retails for $20 on the Urban Decay website.

My Most Recent Favorite.
Benefit's Pore Perfection.
This stuff is a God send, and I'm pretty sure anyone who has ever used it can agree.  It takes away any and all shine, and literally feels like silk on my face.  I wore it by itself today and loved it.  Not to mention it minimizes the look of those pesky pores!  You can get it at Ulta for $30.

 Can't Live Without It!
Benefit's High Beam.
What girl doesn't like that fresh, bright, barbie doll look?   This will surely help you achieve it!  I use this everyday right above where I apply my blush, and on the sides of my nose.  Anywhere I feel like I need a little extra brightening up!  It can turn a bad day into a good day in an instant!  This again, is a sample size, but you can get a full size from Benefit for $26.

I hope y'all enjoyed this blog post!  If you have any questions, or want suggestions on other makeup products, please please please ask!!!  Makeup and Beauty products are my passion, and I would love to help in any way I can!

A Day In The Life

Wow!! It literally has been forever!! I can't believe how much I have been neglecting this little blog.  Honestly, I have just been super busy! For those of you who don't know, I basically packed up my whole life and moved 9 hours south to Tennessee to live with my wonderful boyfriend!  I've been going to school, and got a promotion at work, so my days are long, and by the time I get home I'm normally exhausted and just want to spend some quality time with my boy!
Blogging hasn't been on my mind lately, but last night, while I was taking a shower, I realized how much I actually miss writing and how much I wanted to blog again, so I decided...today was the day!!
I know everyone always says they hate Mondays, but I never really mind them!  Monday's are actually one of my favorite days of the week!  So I thought I'd break it down for y'all and give you a play by play of how I make my Monday's enjoyable! Hopefully this will help and give y'all a little light to your Monday!

Morning-

  • I normally get up around 9 every day.  I feel that when I get up earlier I have an all around better day, as compared to when I wake up at like noon and realize half my day has been wasted!
  • My daily hair/makeup routine will be in a later post, and I don't want to be repetitive, so if you're interested in how I get ready in the morning, keep your eyes open for that post!
  • I can't really say that I ever put much thought into Monday's outfit...haha.  Today's fashion comes to you from LSU baseball and VS yoga pants.  I mean, it is Monday after all, so this is totally acceptable.

  • Anyway, after I get ready,  it's time for breakfast.  I am definitely one of those girls who HAS to have breakfast, like if I don't eat something in the morning you can bet your ass I'm going to be cranky! My typical breakfast is normally some sort of fruit and a granola bar.  I'm a total five year old when it comes to what I eat!

Afternoon:
  • Thankfully I only ever have one class on Mondays.  American Government.  Easiest class ever, and so boring.  Mostly just worksheets, like when did I go back to high school? haha Today we reviewed for our midterm on Wednesday! (thank god, I can't wait for spring break!)

  • Now it's time for the fun stuff!!! Every Monday I try to do something for myself.  Something that I know is going to put me in a good mood for the rest of the week, whether it be doing my nails, or going shopping or whatever.  Today I decided that shopping was obviously the best option and boy am I glad I did!  I found the most adorable pair of boots, and I found them for CHEAP!!!! They were originally $78.00 and I got them for literally $9.49.  Like I practically stole them from the store.   Haha I was so happy, but with the money I saved of course I spent it on makeup.   If you know me at all you know I am a total makeup junkie.  I just can't get enough of the stuff!  So I went to Ulta and got some more Benefit goodies :)  You can be on the lookout for reviews and tutorials of the products I got coming up soon!

Evenings:

  • Every other Monday I either clean the house or do the laundry.  This week is laundry week, so as I have a load in the washer I'm typing up this blog.  I get home around 3 on Monday's and boyfriend doesn't get home until around 7, which is perfect on days when I clean!  He loves coming home to a clean house!
  • Monday's are also my day's to cook something delicious, since every other night I'm in class, or at work.  I definitely take advantage of days like these that I can do something special.  I'm thinking tonight I'll make my famous homemade pizza!  Until then I'll be studying and doing laundry!

So there you have it! My typical Monday.  I gotta say, I'm not the most exciting girl in the world, but I wouldn't change my life for anything.  I truly am blessed to be able to wake up on a Monday, go to class, go shopping, and come home to a beautiful home.  I wouldn't have it any other way! Next time you want to complain about a Monday, just think about how worse it could be!

It feels great to be back in the blogging world! I hope all of you stick around! I promise I won't neglect you anymore!
